Erin Schibli

PROVISIONAL PSYCHOLOGIST

BPsychSc(Hons); MProfPsych; Assoc MAPS

Erin is a provisionally registered psychologist with experience in community mental health and private practice. Erin enjoys working with older adolescents and adults who present with a range of concerns including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, disordered eating, bipolar disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, phobias, adjustment/transition difficulties, low self-esteem, stress, and burnout.

Erin has completed a Bachelor of Psychological Science with Honours and a Master of Professional Psychology. With her extensive education and training, and passion for supporting those who are wanting to better understand their psychological difficulties, Erin is working towards gaining her full registration as a psychologist. Erin is completing an Internship Program supported by the Australian Board of Psychology, in which she is required to demonstrate psychological competencies under regular supervision. Erin is expected to gain her full registration by mid 2024. Until this time, Erin will offer her clients a reduced session fee, as they will not be eligible to claim a Medicare rebate.

Erin adopts an individualised, humanistic, and person-centred approach to therapy. She does this by providing her clients with the autonomy to guide their own treatment, based on their specific goals and experiences. Erin supports her clients to safely explore their challenges by fostering an empathetic, honest, and non-judgemental relationship. Erin ensures that each client feels supported, respected, and empowered while embarking on such vulnerable work.

Erin draws on various evidence-based treatment models including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), schema therapy, and mindfulness.

Erin is an associate member of the Australian Psychological Society (Assoc MAPS).
