Psychometric Assessment

Types Of Assessments

NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT

A neuropsychological assessment is an in-depth examination of cognitive functioning, covering areas such as learning and memory, attention, language, visuospatial abilities, speed of information processing, and executive functioning. The results of formal testing are interpreted in the context of the individual’s development, personal and medical history to clarify diagnoses, characterise cognitive functioning, and provide recommendations for suitable services and support. A neuropsychological assessment typically takes between 8 and 10 hours to complete. Additional time may be required if the client's presentation is particularly complex or there is a need for thorough feedback and/or third party correspondence.

NEURODIVERSITY ASSESSMENT

A neurodiversity assessment is a comprehensive psychosocial assessment aimed at identifying neurodiversity such as autism and ADHD. The MIGDAS-2 and a variety of other measures are used, along with consideration of developmental history and education/occupational functioning, to explore differences often experienced by neurodivergent individuals. Intellectual testing is incorporated for child assessments and offered as an optional test for older adolescents and adults. A neurodiversity assessment typically takes between 8 and 10 hours to complete for a child and 6 to 8 hours for an adult. Additional time may be required if the client's presentation is particularly complex or there is a need for thorough feedback and/or third party correspondence.

EDUCATIONAL ASSESSMENT

An educational assessment is conducted to assist in identifying any specific difficulties that are interfering with the individual’s ability to learn and/or demonstrate learning in educational environments. The assessment covers the domains of intellectual functioning and academic abilities and aims to clarify any diagnoses that impact on learning and educational performance; identify appropriate supports and services; and advocate for accommodations in the learning environment. An educational assessment will typically take 8 hours to complete. Additional time may be required if the client's presentation is particularly complex or there is a need for thorough feedback and/or third party correspondence.

INTELLECTUAL ASSESSMENT

An intellectual assessment is conducted to determine the Presence of an intellectual impairment or, conversely, intellectual giftedness. Results of intellectual testing are interpreted along with a measure of adaptive functioning, to confirm the presence of impairment or giftedness. An intellectual assessment typically takes between 3 and 4 hours to complete. Additional time may be required if the client's presentation is particularly complex or there is a need for thorough feedback and/or third party correspondence.
