Hilda Strojil

COUNSELLOR
PSYCHOTHERAPIST

BCommun; MCouns; MPACFA

Hilda is an accredited counsellor with a Bachelor of Communication and a Master of Counselling. Hilda has experience working with adolescents and adults from varying cultural backgrounds. Hilda has a passion for working with clients who are experiencing anxiety, mood concerns, grief and loss, poor self-esteem, and a range of adjustment difficulties including relationship stress and/or breakdown, identity issues, and questions around life’s meaning and/or purpose.

Hilda uses a person-centred approach, believing that all humans have the capacity to fulfil their own potential when provided with an environment that embodies safety and belonging. Hilda uses an array of therapeutic modalities and finetunes them to match each client’s unique history and presentation. These treatment models include emotion focused therapy (EFT), internal family systems therapy (IFS), narrative therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). Hilda’s therapeutic framework incorporates mindfulness, acceptance, self-awareness, and values-driven philosophies.

Hilda has a deep belief that our relational issues stem from attachment wounding and pays particular attention to early childhood experiences. To help her clients return to a sense of wholeness, Hilda helps them to recognise potential wounding; identify the parts of themselves that dominate or have been suppressed for survival purposes; and learn how to meet their underlying emotional needs necessary for healthier functioning.

Hilda takes a holistic approach to therapy, integrating the mind and the body in her work. With training in energetic healing, yoga, and meditation Hilda prides herself as working intuitively with her clients and finds value in incorporating breathwork and nervous system regulation techniques into her treatment.

Hilda is a member of the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA). Please note that Hilda offers her clients a reduced session fee as they are not eligible to claim a Medicare rebate.
