Lily Sedgwick

PROVISIONAL PSYCHOLOGIST

BA(Psych); GradDip(Prof Psych) MPsych(Ed & Dev)(Current); MAAPi

Lily is a provisional psychologist with experience in clinical and educational settings. While she enjoys working with clients of all ages, she is particularly passionate about supporting children, adolescents, and young adults. Lily helps clients navigate a range of challenges, including anxiety, stress, emotional dysregulation, depression, behavioral issues, self-esteem concerns, relationship difficulties, social skill challenges, and adjustment difficulties.

Lily adopts a warm, empathic, and person-centred approach to therapy. Lily believes that a genuine therapeutic relationship is essential for achieving treatment goals, and strives to create a safe and non-judgemental space for each of her clients. Lily draws on several evidence-based treatment modalities, including cognitive-behaviour therapy (CBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).

Lily also has an interest in completing neurodevelopmental assessments for learning difficulties, ADHD, and Autism. Lily adopts a strengths-focused and neurodiverse-affirming approach to assessment. In recognition of the pivotal roles family and school play in a young person’s development, Lily values working closely with key stakeholders to provide tailored recommendations to support her client's needs across home and school settings.

Lily is currently pursuing a Master of Educational and Developmental Psychology at Australian Catholic University. Lily is completing her final placement at Minded Psychology, where she is required to demonstrate psychological competency under regular supervision. Lily is expected to gain her full registration as a psychologist by mid 2025. Until this time, Lily will offer her clients a reduced session fee, as they will not be eligible to claim a Medicare rebate.

Please note, that due to the temporary nature of Lily’s placement, she will be best suited to clients who present with mild-moderate symptoms and who are seeking intensive shorter-term therapy. We recommend reserving a weekly session time with Lily throughout her six month placement, to optimise therapeutic outcomes.

Lily is an associate member of the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc (MAAPi).
