Logan Flott

PROVISIONAL PSYCHOLOGIST
BEHAVIOURAL SUPPORT PRACTITIONER

BA(Psych); MA(Psych); MAAPi

Logan is a provisional psychologist who has experience working in a variety of clinical and research settings. Educated at Boston University and the University of Iowa, Logan has worked in research laboratories dedicated to studying anxiety, youth attachment, and ADHD. She also simultaneously worked in schools and extracurricular programs with children presenting with behavioural concerns.

Now residing in Australia, Logan is currently working towards gaining her full registration as a psychologist. Logan is completing an Internship Program supported by the Australian Board of Psychology, in which she is required to demonstrate psychological competencies under regular supervision. Logan is expected to gain her full registration by the end of 2024. Until this time, Logan will offer her clients a reduced session fee, as they will not be eligible to claim a Medicare rebate.

Although Logan’s experience involves working with children and adolescents from two years of age and up, she very much enjoys working with clients across the life span and is passionate about the deep re-processing work that can be done with adult clients.

Logan works with a range of presenting issues including emotional dysregulation, anxiety, chronic and acute stress, depression, behavioural concerns, social skill difficulties, attachment trauma, grief and loss, and adjustment difficulties. Despite being early in her career as a psychologist, Logan’s experience as a behavioural support practitioner has seen her work with a range of difficult presentations such as self-harm, risk, addiction, complex trauma, destructive behaviours, and psychosis. Logan feels empowered by this work as she strives to build a deep, non-judgemental, and therapeutically healing connection with these often-misunderstood clientele. Logan aims to help these clients to identify, understand, and meet their underlying emotional and sensory needs.

Logan integrates principles of dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), internal family systems therapy (IFS), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and yoga into her work. As a YRT-200 certified yoga practitioner, Logan understands the healing benefits of body work and mindful movement in the treatment of trauma, especially for those looking to improve their distress tolerance and connection to their body. Logan takes a holistic approach to therapy to cultivate present-moment awareness, mindfulness, and client healing. She works to integrate all aspects of a person’s life including their mind, body, emotional state, physical health, habits, and environment to create an embodied sense of safety.

All of Logan’s work is trauma-informed and individually tailored. She recognises that her clients are the expert of their own experiences and prioritises collaboration with her client’s personal and professional networks when appropriate.

Logan is a professional member of the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc (AAPi) and the Yoga Alliance.
